It was in 1890 that a local parochial school teacher drew together a number of instrumentalists from the Lebanon Cornet Band and formed another musical group, The Lebanon Concert Band. In 1939 these two groups merged to form the Lebanon Band. Today the fourth and fifth generations of the founders play in the community band. It is not unusual to have three generations play side by side in the band. The Lebanon Band stresses the love of music and a strong attachment to family and community. It is a true monument of the German culture and heritage of Lebanon.
Current officers of the band are:
The band holds rehearsals May-August on Tuesday evenings at 8:00 p.m. in the Lebanon Town Hall.
